Australian stocks follow Wall Street higher

Sydney - Australian stocks opened sharply higher Thursday after the massive rally on Wall Street.
At the opening bell, the ASX 200 added 84 points to blast through the 4,000 mark.
The biggest daily gain of the year so far came Tuesday, when stocks piled on 3.4 per cent to take the ASX 200 index to 3,867.
