Shares gain two per cent in Seoul

Seoul - Shares surged 2 per cent Monday on the Seoul stock exchange as fears over Dubai's debt problems eased. South Korea's currency increased against the dollar.
The benchmark Kospi index soared 31.10 points to close at 1,555.60.
Advancing issues outpaced decliners 643 to 169.
The main index of the technology-heavy Kosdaq market advanced 12.65 points to 464.32.
On currency markets, the US dollar was quoted at 1,162.80 Korean won, after 1,175.50 won last Friday.
