One in six Airbus planes sold to China
Feb 9, 2010, 12:02 GMT
Beijing - Europe's aircraft manufacturer Airbus SAS sold 78 planes, or 16 per cent of its global output, to Chinese carriers in 2009, Airbus China said Tuesday.
Airbus' in-service fleet of 537 aircraft as of December accounted for 41 per cent of the total fleet, the official Xinhua news agency quoted the company as saying.
With the recovery of the global economy in 2010, Airbus is scheduled to deliver more than 100 new planes to Chinese airlines this year.
Boeing Co, Airbus' main global competitor, holds a share of over 50 per cent of the Chinese civil aviation market.
