World's top chemical group names Bock as next chief executive

Ludwigshafen, Germany - BASF, the world's biggest chemicals company, named Kurt Bock, 51, on Monday to become its next chief executive.
BASF, based in the German city of Ludwigshafen, is currently led by Juergen Hambrecht, 63, who has said he intends to retire. Bock, who is currently chief financial officer, was picked by the supervisory board to take over on May 6, 2011.
