Singapore airport records 17-per-cent passenger increase

Singapore - Singapore's Changi Airport said Thursday passenger numbers increased by 17 per cent year-on-year to more than 20.2 million in the first half of 2010.
The airport recorded a 16.5-per-cent increase in cargo to 879,000 tons during the January-June period, while aircraft movement was up by 10.4 per cent to 128,010.
The ratio between full-service carriers and low-cost carriers was 4 to 1 in terms of passengers carried and 3 to 1 regarding the number of flights.
Changi Airport serves 89 airlines operating close to 5,100 weekly scheduled flights.
