Iraq oil exports down slightly to 3.96 billion dollars in August

Baghdad - Iraq's oil exports in August were worth almost 3.96 billion dollars, slightly less than than the month before, government figures released Thursday showed.
The country exported some 55.4 million barrels of oil in August, at a price of 71.43 dollars per barrel.
The majority of the oil came from the southern fields near Basra and nearly 10.5 million barrels originated in Kirkuk.
In July, oil exports were worth almost 4.01 billion dollars through exporting some 56.3 million barrels of oil.
