German inflation hits two-year high, 1.5 per cent

Berlin - Higher food and oil prices drove German inflation to its highest level in two years in November, the statistics office said Friday
Based on the results of six German states, annual inflation in Europe's biggest economy jumped to 1.5 per cent from 1.3 per cent in October.
Despite the rise, German consumer prices remain comfortably within the European Central Bank's annual 2-per-cent target for inflation.
