Stuttgart - German car manufacturer Porsche said Tuesday its full-year US sales were up 29 per cent last year and more growth was on its way in the United States, a main export market for the firm.
Porsche, now controlled by Volkswagen, sold 25,320 of its iconic sports cars, sedans and sports utility vehicles (SUVs) there in 2010. In December, sales were up 21 per cent, year on year, to 2,567 units.
The Stuttgart-based company said it had sold 7,741 of its new Panamera sedans to US buyers along with 8,343 of the Cayenne, the SUV in its line-up, whereas sales of its classic sports car, the 911, were off 16 per cent, falling to 5,735.
