Moscow - Russian gas giant Gazprom on Tuesday said its chief executive Alexei Miller would have his 10-year tenure extended by another five years.
The St Petersberg-born economist and confidant of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin was appointed as chief executive of the state-owned company in 2001.
His contract is to be extended to the end of May 2016, Moscow- based Gazprom announced on its website.
With Miller at the helm, the company rose to become a leading international business, which has also long been active on the crude oil and electricity markets.
