Spain's economic growth slows in second quarter
Aug 5, 2011, 9:02 GMT
Madrid - Spain's economic growth slowed to 0.2 per cent in the second quarter, from 0.3 per cent in the first quarter, the Bank of Spain said Friday.
The economy grew 0.7 per cent year-on-year.
The central bank attributed the lower growth largely to Greece's financial problems, which have increased pressure on other southern European countries, and to the eurozone debt crisis.
Spain rose out recession last year, but growth is expected to remain sluggish for several years.
