EU's "six pack" budget rules approved by parliament
Sep 28, 2011, 10:29 GMT
Strasbourg, France - The European Union's so-called 'six pack' - a package of six legislative items improving eurozone economic coordination and budget discipline - was approved Wednesday by the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France.
The measures were voted through despite opposition from centre-left groups, which consider the 'six pack' to focus too much on austerity, at the expense of growth-promoting policies.
