Singapore - Singapore shares closed up 2.04 per cent Friday as investor sentiment was more optimistic after European leaders reached a key deal to solve the region's debt crisis.
The Straits Times Index rose 58.15 points to 2,905.72 with gainers beating losers by 335 to 181.
The surge in Singapore came after stock markets in the US closed higher on the news from Europe.
