Germans, French call crisis summit in Cannes ahead of G20

Berlin - An extraordinary summit is to be held in Cannes on Wednesday ahead of the Group of 20 meeting, the German government announced, after Chancellor Angela Merkel held an emergency phone call with French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
Merkel and Sarkozy would meet with Greek authorities, European institutions and the International Monetary Fund to take 'all the necessary measures' to ensure the deal is quickly implemented, the French presidency said.
