Publisher Axel Springer firms up strong earnings forecast
Nov 7, 2011, 12:12 GMT
Berlin - Axel Springer, Germany's biggest newspaper publishing group, confirmed Monday an earlier forecast to lift earnings at least 10 per cent this year, helped by strong income from internet-based media products.
Chief executive Mathias Doepfner said the full-year figure was likely to be up by a 'low double-digit number of per cent.'
Berlin-based Springer's main national titles are the mass-circulation paper Bild and the upmarket Die Welt.
Third-quarter earnings without special items were up 26.5 per cent to 157.6 million euros (216 million dollars), the group said. Quarterly sales were up 12 per cent to 792.6 million euros.
