Hong Kong welcomes 34 million visitors in first 10 months of year

Hong Kong - Hong Kong welcomed a record 34.2 million visitors in the first 10 months of 2011, tourism officials said Tuesday.
A total of 3.79 million people visited the city of 7.1 million in October, the Hong Kong Tourism Board said, an increase of 16.4 per cent on the same month in 2010.
Visitors from mainland China accounted for more than 2.5 million arrivals in October, up 24.9 per cent from October 2010.
Mainland Chinese visitors accounted for 22.9 million arrivals in the first 10 months of the year.
