Singapore shares rise 2.2 per cent

Singapore - Singapore shares rose 2.2 per cent on Thursday following on the overnight bullish performance of international stock markets.
The Straits Times Index closed 59.42 points higher at 2761.88, according to Singapore Exchange (SGX).
Trading volume was over 1.4 million shares worth SGD 1.38 billion (1 billion dollars).
