China's robust growth sends Hong Kong stocks higher

Hong Kong - Hong Kong stocks rose more than 3.2 per cent Tuesday following data on robust growth in China.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index closed 615.55 points higher to end the day at 19,627.75. Turnover was 67.8 billion Hong Kong dollars, (8.7 billion US dollars).
Gains were across the board with China banking shares being the most actively traded stocks.
The rally came after China announced its economy had expanded by 8.9 per cent year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2011.
