French government halves 2012 growth forecast to 0.5 per cent
Jan 30, 2012, 14:51 GMT
Paris - French Prime Minister Francois Fillon on Monday halved the government's 2012 economic growth forecast, from 1 per cent to 0.5 per cent.
The International Monetary Fund said last week it expected the French economy to grow by 0.2 per cent and that the eurozone as a whole will fall into a mild recession.
Fillon said the revised forecast took into account 'the deterioration of the economic situation.'
