New Zealand unemployment rate falls
Feb 9, 2012, 1:25 GMT
Wellington - Unemployment in New Zealand fell to 6.3 per cent in the October-December quarter, government officials said Thursday.
Statistics New Zealand said the drop was driven by an increase in part-time jobs and fewer people seeking work.
Unemployment was 6.6 per cent in the previous three-month period.
The number of people out of work fell by 7,000 to 150,000 at the end of 2011, the lowest number of jobless in more than a year.
