Greek unions call 48-hour strike
Feb 9, 2012, 10:31 GMT
Athens - Greece's two largest private and public sector unions are to hold a 48-hour-strike starting on Friday in response to a wave of new austerity measures, officials said on Thursday.
The government has caved in to pressure from its international creditors to reduce salaries and carry out layoffs in exchange for a multi-billion euro bailout deal.
Negotiations in Athens stalled after politicians failed to agree on state and private pension cuts.
