Greek police seek arrest warrant for EU/IMF
Feb 10, 2012, 11:12 GMT
Athens - Greece's police force was seeking an arrest warrant for the country's international lenders on Friday, insisting they were jeopardizing democracy.
The demand was contained in a letter, published in the Greek press, which had reportedly been sent to representatives of the European Central Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the European Commission.
'You are jeopardizing Greece's democracy and the survival of its people,' the letter said. Reports said police officials were seeking the arrest warrant from the Greek state attorney.
Thousands of 'Wanted' flyers were also distributed around the Greek capital, offering an award of 1 euro to anyone who apprehends the troika.
