Feb 10, 2012, 16:15 GMT
Athens - Greece's deputy foreign minister resigned on Friday, the fifth senior politician to do so in 48 hours, over new austerity measures being imposed on the country by international lenders, according to radio reports.
The deputy foreign minister is from the Socialist PASOK party, one of the three parties in the ruling coalition.
Four other senior officials, including the transport minister, all belonging to the small LAOS party that is supporting the coalition, also handed in their resignation during the course of Thursday and Friday.
