Wall Street little changed

Washington - Major US stock indices were mixed Tuesday within a narrow range.
In the trading session, losing stocks outnumbered gainers by nearly two to one.
The blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 4.24 points, or 0.03 per cent, to 12,878.3. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 Index slipped 1.27 points, or 0.09 per cent, to 1,350.5. The technology-heavy Nasdaq added 0.44 points, or 0.02 per cent, to 2,931.39.
The US currency edged up against the euro to 76.16 euro cents from 75.81 euro cents on Monday. The dollar jumped against the Japanese currency to 78.46 yen from 77.57 yen.
