US stocks drop on Greek debt woes

Washington = US stocks slid Wednesday as concerns mounted over Greek debt.
Fear that Greece will miss debt payments next month grew as a decision slated for Wednesday night on 130 billion euros (171 billion dollars) of aid was put off until at least February 20.
The blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 97.33 points, or 0.76 per cent, to 12,780.95. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 Index lost 7.27 points, or 0.54 per cent, to 1,343.23. The technology-heavy Nasdaq dipped 16 points, or 0.55 per cent, to 2,915.83.
The US currency edged up against the euro to 76.54 euro cents from 76.16 euro cents on Tuesday. The dollar slipped against the Japanese currency to 78.39 yen from 78.46 yen.
