Why don't you guys interview ex-Hinuds atheist, ex-Christian atheist, ex-Buddhist atheist people and there are lot of them with lot of organizations and see what they say about their formal religion. If there are atheist from all religions, why do only interview Islam's atheist. Seems like you guys are pure racist and Islamophobic people.

Hurrah to those who have stood up in the face of violence to denounce Islam. Although I have not officially denounced Islam,I'm sure I would be considered an apostate for the beliefs I choose to live my life by. I question many of the 'laws' and edicts in Islam. When one studies Islamic history, it is evident that the religion had a violent birth, so to speak. Prophet Muhammad faced great persecution in order to establish this monotheistic religion in the Arabian penisula. Many battles were fought to establish the fledging religion. However, once Prophet Muhammad had gained control and power, that is when I believe he or somebody started implementing his/their own biases and prejudices in the name of God. Islamic ideology throws the baby out with the bathwater. Alcohol is haram. Pigs are haram. For some adherants of Islam, music and dancing are haram. Dogs are looked upon with tolerance and disdane. A muslim woman can not marry a non-Muslim man according to the sharia. These are just a few of the 'thous shalt nots'' Islam has to offer. The religion was established to control EVERY aspect of a person's life and even death. It is highly intolerant and very patriarchal -- You must NEVER, NEVER, EVER question the authority of Prophet Muhammad and his sayings!!! Afterall, these words are from God himself. If you do, off with your head! One is just supposed to accept everything hook, line, and sinker. I have come to the conclusion that Islam is a very controlling religion. The compassion that is not there. Any infraction is met with a violent blow. Yes, Islam is a religion of peace---as long as you don't rock the boat. The National Council of Ex-Muslims has seriously rocked the boat --- and now they have to live in with the threat of possible assult and perhaps even death. Islam has and continues to have a bloody and violent history. Yet, the religion is in dire need of reform. I applaud those who have the courage to denounce Islam and have the courage to challenge many of its edicts. These people exercised their freedom of speech. Think about it. What Islamic country safeguards the right of freedom of speech and freedom of assembly particularily if it is anti-government or whatever the subject may be? Oh! If it is anti-USA, Britain, Europe then it's OK. Unfortunately, it is sad to say, there are some European and American converts to Islam who espouse the violent, intolerant, suppressive aspects of a distorted interpretation of Islam. They tend to forget that it is within these democratic countries that have allowed them to CHANGE their religion without the fear of death from an established religion. Sharia has been interpreted as stating that should a believer leave Islam, that person should be put to death. That 'law' was implemented (this came from God, remember?) during the Medina years of Islam. It was a survival method to ensure the religion wouldn't be annilated. Is such a 'law' needed today? And what does that say about 'there is no compulsion in Islam?' It contradicts itself. Anyway, I applaud those who have stood up. Maybe this is the beginning of the reformation for Islam.
Any system and or belief that encourages discussion, study, comparison and growth is a healthy system of beliefs. If honest discussion, questioning, research, and truth is discouraged then you have on your hands a cult of evil. The truth can and will withstand query, it is the lies that cannot. Why can't we study, compare, question, and open up Islam? If God the creator truly cares about his creation then why does he send a religion that promotes the subjugation of his children and condones the murder of non-bleievers??????

Islam is great if you are with out an imagination, but so sad if your looking for innovation. It quite simply kills. If one is stupid and a petty control freak, or perhaps someone that wants to live in pastural fantasies, go for it, but don't become jeoulous towards the more productive societies, for they will always have it over you. If a religion becomes so little and must kill those, here in the 21st Century, who renounce it, that ought to speak for itself. Many muslims say Europe is bad and decadent. Yes, some of that may be true, however, if you don't like it, leave it. But I guess that does speak the truth; leave Europe? Well, ask a practicing, devout muslim a question like that and 'racism' and 'intolerant' will become your next name. He will never, ever be able to see you in the same way. If he or she says, look at all the greedy sexuality in European society (some of which I will concur), but dare to mention the fact that the vast majority of sex crimes are commited by muslims, and on an unbelievable level. Surely, a devout muslim will say this is not so, but in the koran it states some where that in dar es el harb, i.e. the house of war (a non-believing region) that it's ok to take 'booty', i.e. women and do what you will with them. What I can suggest to you non-muslim brothers,before making very harsh judgements on Islam and His Prophet,read and have a fair knowlegde about it from the reliable resourses.I said RELIABLE,because that is the key.These days everybody writing somethings on Islam with no knowledge about it at all or got a purpose,that is to destroy the beauties it presents to human mankind.The artist knows the best about his/her crafts.So does The Creator(The Almighty).He knows us the best way than what we think we know ourselves.The religion of Islam is purely beautiful.If there is something wrong,it is because of our attitudes,behaviours as muslims.But I can assure my non-muslim and atheist brothers,in my religion(Islam)killing one human being is equal to killing all human mankind .So the punishment in the hereafter will be accordingly.Despite the serious warning by GOD,if we still committing these sins,The Creator gives time,then we willingly making our choice to go to Hell, and we cannot defend ourselves in the hereafter.Because the choice is ours.Allah knows the best,even our thinking.An atheist brother made his/her choice by not believing that there is no God.So his/her judgement will be according to their choice,depending on their stuation.(God knows the best)Muslims around the world having difficult times.Invasions,corruptions because of poverty and uneducation.Many muslim brothers,who live with their cultural values are thinking that these values belong to the religion,but infact they are not.As a result of that there happens a misunderstanding and misinterpretation of religion and its Holly Book(Koran).Without a through understanding,anyone can make mistakes by assuming that those acts exist in the religion but actually it does not.Forexample,marriage in islam always became an issue even in muslim world.They say that a man can marry up to 4 women in Islam.It is true but there are very strick guidelines,and conditions such as first wife has to approve the second marriage.So that to happen first wife must be a bare woman,who cannot give birth to a baby,still up to the wife to approve for the second marriage.The other condition is that husband has to be equal in every aspect of his approach to both wives.Practically it is not possible.To manage such thing both wifes and husband has to be vey dedicated and understanding level,which is not possible with todays generation anyway.I have never seen a muslim man who married two wifeves.On the other hand,a westernised so called modern man get into relationship with more than 100 women in their lifetime,probably,more and they destroy the stem of the society,that's 'family'.How can we explain this stuation now? GOD WILL JUDGE US ACCORDING TO OUR DEEDS AND CLOSENESS TO HIM ,NOT TO OUR ASSETS,REPUTATION OR POWER.

I've read this article and I know that there isl a large number of poeple on this earth don't understand Islam and don't know what Islam is. Islam is not merely a religion but it's a way of life-a perfect way of life. How can non-Muslim understand Islam ? Because even their own religion they don't understand or know anything about it. Most of them are Cristians only in names. who can tell me ' what it is to be a Cristian ?
