The technology is proven and is amazing so it is a mater of cost and peoples vision for the future. Ty it into Photovoltaic and wind turbine power and you have an almost perfect form of mass transportation. With the only costs being maintenance.

..that would all be true...if it actually worked.

One other glaring point: someone has to provide all the land for this. I think when you take away the endless public money, this falls on it's face faster than a one-legged hurdle jumper.

The beauty of failure, if you acknowledge it, is that it can be the first step to success.

Ever wonder what a 300 mph train wreck would look like? How do you protect the neighboring areas it goes through? What about security?

The land and infrastructure costs must be out of sight. This, on top of development costs.
