'Russia = USA, Georgia = Iraq' ?

That is just so ignorant.

Unless of course you're talking about the First Gulf War when a bigger country (Iraq/Georgia) invaded a tiny country (Kuwait/South Ossetia) and another country (USA/Russia) had to intervene to sava the civillian population of the originally invaded country.

Or how about Serbia invades Kosovo and the USA comes in to protect the civilians.

Oh I forgot: Georgia are putative NATO members so anything they do is OK.

Here's a little fact for us to dwell on. All accounts put the death toll of the Georgian attack on S Ossetia at 1500 civilians: that's 1.5% of the entire population.

If we don't gat USA , UK France, etc to call the Georgians back out of South Ossetia, we will have to rely on the Russians alone to prevent a land grab turning into a genocide

This is another event like we saw last year take place in
Lebanon where the US sat back and gave its blessing as well
as supply the bombs so Israel could commit mass murder and
destruction against the Lebanese people.
The Bush regime are so war hungry, it's like bloodshed is their
morning orange juice. It gets them going!

EightiesLadyAug: You're totally Falsetinianed 'balanced'.... this has nothing to be compared to Lebanon-Israel conflict. The Georgians didn't shoot into Khazaria's Russia; the Hizbullah did shoot into Israel and had waged ground attacks in northern Israel.

Israel left Lebanon 8 years ago miSS 8ies, Russia didn't leave S. Ossetia.

Israel retaliated to Hizbullah aggression and vice versa as you tried to phony, and it was 2 (2) years ago and NOT 1 (1), as you are lying to us.

The US didn't supply bombs to Israel, Israel manufactures hers own advanced bombs and even sell some of them to the US.

The Hizbullah fired rockets in purpose on civilians while Israel attacked Hizbullah terror sites and weapons. About 800 of the 1000 Lebanese deads were Hizbullah terrorists. The other 200 were denied the free to leave their houses and flee north by Hizbullah which turned them to human shields for themselves.

Bad Muslims should well detected and executed in advance in order to make our world better!

I see that Russian propaganda is working well...

people,u only see what u want to see :( The fact is, russia has been waiting for his chance to raise escalation is georgia and here it is, they got it... at this moment, when u are reading this message, georgian territory outside the conflict zone is being bombed and peaceful population is getting killed. Does anyone still believe that Russia has 'peaceful' intentions? 'Defending russian citizens' is just a mask, Russia is invading georgia! If europe does not react on this asap, your country can be next!

Amero-British mass media are so bias. When is Europe+Britain going to stop sucking up to America? The news you hear are so pro-American. You don't even notice it, as you're so blindfolded.
When Americans bombarded Belgrade on YOUR European soil. What did you do? Nothing. And when Georgia attacked another country, at night without notice, just like the Nazis did to begin WWII, what did Europe do then? Nothing. Just blame Russia, much easier, especially when Bush is sponsoring all this. All you get to read is that Russia blah blah blah, Russia is the enemy, Russia is this is that. Grow up people! Stop being the puppets of the American Bush Show.

For whatever reason, that picture of the injured elderly woman sitting among the fire and twisted metal really moved me- I was saddened and reminded of the terrible costs of war. The poor, innocent woman in the picture has not only received disgraceful bodily harm, but her home and all she knows has been destroyed. Where will she go from here?
One of the things that perhaps strikes my usually-placid emotional nerve the most is the fact that the woman is completely alone and helpless, yet she is reaching with her arm as if pleading for help.
It is hard to comprehend that in this wide world, such tragic scenes as these are easily lost in the chaos of the larger picture. Yet right now, this woman is somewhere, and she is either alive or lying dead and cold among the rubble of her home.

Does anybody know what happened to this woman after the picture was taken?

Bear in mind that Georgia initiated this massacre (from civilian sources there at the time) Their run at killing South Ossetians and Russian peacekeepers was abruptly stopped by Russian forces.
In the process the Georgians managed to kill thousands of innocent people. Do not get your information from US mainstream trash they are habitual liars, especially where lives are at stake.. I'm American and it disgusts me. Soon the chicken will roost however and if justice serves these media criminals will spend time behind bars.

We, Iranian people should unite to rebuild greater Iran. This leads us to freedom, proud, wealth and masterness.

God bless Iran.
God bless Ossetian sisters and brothers.
Down with Islamic cruel and western enemies.
