The British should have the audacity to admit that these marbles belong to Greece, that they were removed by a British Official (British Ambassador to the Ottoman Empire) from a country under occupation then (Greece).
The british colonial era is over, it was a sad period for the world (Partition of India and Pakistan, Partition of Ireland, Partition of Palestine, Opium War in China...). Refusing to give the Marbles back to the rightful owners is a continuation of the colonial mentality which does not become the stature of current day Britain. The British Nuseuem should graciousely return the Marbles, The British Governement should apologize for what the theft their ambassador committed. Greece should reciprocate by thanking them for preserving them.
