VW spruces up New Beetle

Wolfsburg, Germany - Volkswagen has spruced-up the New Beetle with minor design modifications and new equipment packages, the manufacturer has announced.
The front headlights have a more oval shape and the front turn signals are smaller than in the predecessor model. VW emblems on the bonnet and tailgate have also been modified. It also comes with a new colour and wheel range with 16 and 17 inch alloy wheels.
In the interior shiny chrome has been added to the air vents and around the instrument cluster with a new collection of fabrics for the seat covers. It also includes optional real leader CD pockets and a programmable garage door opener under the sun visor.
Five engines are available ranging from the 1.4 litre petrol motor with 55 kW (75 hp) to the improved performance 77 kW (105 hp) 1.9 litre TDI engine.
Prices for the New Beetle available in Germany in August start at 16,050 euros for the basic model. The convertible will sell at 20,320 euros.
