Jordan's king flies to Paris for talks with Chirac

Apr 11, 2007, 8:15 GMT

Amman - Jordan's King Abdullah II left Amman for Paris on Wednesday for a brief visit and talks with French President Jacques Chirac on the 'latest political developments' in the Middle East, the Jordanian royal court announced.

The king was expected to discuss with Chirac the so-called Arab Peace Initiative for the Middle East which was readopted last week by the Arab summit conference in Riyadh, officials said.

The king said Tuesday that the Arab plan provided a 'rare opportunity' for forging peace between the Arab world and Israel and urged the Jewish state to accept it.

The blueprint offers to extend recognition to Israel by all Arab states after it pulls out from all Arab territories it occupied in 1967, including East Jerusalem, and after a 'just settlement' is found for the problem of Palestinian refugees.

Jacob Israel, while I appreciate the sentiment It would have been nice had you done a better job with Hizbollah. There is only so much of the lifting that we should be expected to do over here.

Yeah, Jake! More napalm and less HE next time, okay?

Has anyone noticed the similarities between this guy:

and these two, rather noisome leaders in the Middle east?

There seems to be a definite family resemblance here, right down to their personality quirks.
