Throats of three Christians cut in Turkey (2nd Roundup)

Ankara - Three men, one of them a German, were knifed to death on Wednesday at the office of a Christian publishing company in the central Turkey city of Malatya.
There was outrage in Germany at the attacks, with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier issuing a sharp condemnation of 'this dreadful act,' according to Berlin officials.
In a statement during a visit to Panama, he said he expected Turkey to expose the reasons for the attack and punish the perpetrators.
Police found the three men tied by their hands and feet to chairs in the office and with their throats slashed. One of the two Turkish victims was still alive when found, but died in hospital.
Turkish reports said the 46-year-old German had been living in Malatya for the past five years.
Five Turkish men aged 19 or 20 were arrested as suspects at the scene. One of them had injured himself as he jumped out of a window in a bid to escape the police.
Reports said they gave up a letter saying, 'The five of us are brothers. We will die and not return.'
Turkey's NTV television reported that nationalists had previously protested outside the offices of Zirve Publishing, accusing it of proselytizing. The third-storey shop sold bibles, crosses and Christian tracts.
Germany's national Lutheran council voiced shock at the attack. Its chairman, Bishop Wolfgang Huber, said the men had died only because they had distributed bibles, or the gospel of life.
Faruk Sen, director of the Centre for Turkish Studies in Essen, Germany, said Turkish security forces had to 'drain the swamp' after this 'new climax of nationalist and Islamist terrorism.'
He said Turkey must defend its heritage as a multicultural and multi-religious state with a tradition of tolerance.

How much longer will the world insist on believing that Islam is a religion of peace? This is a false religion, with a false prophet worshiping a false god. Islam is indeed a cancer on mankind
No wonder! If Turkey could get away with massacre of 1.5 million Christians (Armenian Genocide) and massacres of other Christian Nations (Greeks, Assyrians etc.) what difference will make 3 or 4 more killed Christians. It is about time international community to condemn and sanction Turkey to prevent future massacres.

So, the article only has opinions from Germans and news from a turkish TV station about the assailants' past activities. Do the Turkish people agree that they have a rich heritage of a multi-cultural and multi-religious state characterized by tolerance? That's what I want to know.

Actually not many - but always a good excuse to bring the arch-enemy Israel into any argument which happens to be associated with Islam in any shape or form. THe real wquestion should be: How many muslims have died at the hands of other muslims over the last five years? Answer - many thousands.
Yea, Islam is a relegion of peace and tolerance right? Many countries have fought for the rights of Muslims. We should just let them all blow eachother up, and the world would be a much better place!
Islam is a huge community and the actions of a few lunatics should be put into context of not being representative of the religion itself. As you probably know, there are some extremest christians who blow up abortion clinics, so are all christians extremists? People need to show more understanding and common sense. In an increasingly interdependent world, we all need to work to bridge gaps of differences by casting a fair eye on other cultures. Theres a saying, 'a vessel spills only what it has in it'. I.e. Sick people only interpret things through thier sickness, hence reaching foul conclusions.
in the end, it's the human factor: we're all biased. the difference is, to what degree?

The west has for too long closed it eyes to the turkish DEVIL's. They are the same paraniod, criminal and murderous tribe that have been doing this sort of things for almost a millenia to the occupied Christian Armenian Greek and Assyrian people. To get a true picture of how backward, barbarian and filthy these mongols are, you only need to multiply this one case by at least several million indiginous chrisitians whereas today there are hardly any christians left. People condemn are beginning to condemn muslims and islam in general as a religion/culture of violence and hatred because of the acts of few(or many .. however you want to look at it) because a regilion YOU HAVE NOT SPOKEN OUT AGAINST THESE ATROCITIES. If you want the rest of the world to believe that you muslims are not violent hateful barbarians, then do something to promote your image of peace by speaking out enmass against the radicals.
Secondly, you can blame deaths of muslims on Americans and on Israelis. The difference between American and muslims is that in America we go to war for the idealogies of freedom and democracy ( this is what the politicians say anyway). Muslims go to war in the name of RELIGION. We do not go to war to wipe out an entire culture of people. When atrocities occur we denounce the soldiers who commit them and throw them in jail. Our culture preaches tolerance when your culture preaches death to those who do not follow your ways.

The Spanish Inquisition and Armenian genocide was a long time ago ending in the 1800s and early 1900s for 500 years and this is today.
Those societies need to be brought into the future following solid doctrine, not old thinking. The Spanish Inquisition was linked to old Catholic corrupt practices not the true word of the New Testament.

The problem is that most non-Muslims equate Islam with the Arab version of it and more specifically the Saudi interpretation of it(Wahabism). Wahabism is indeed a cancer to the Muslim faith worldwide ... and a fast spreading one. Why? It is well fed with oil money and a vast dose of indignation at the hypocrisy and injustice of Western countries in its relations with the Middle East. I am an atheist and my blood boils when I see the West and Russia cut all kinds of deals with Arab/Persian despotic governments to guarantee access to oil reserves and weapons markets, knowing full well that a lot of that money will find its way into financing government sponsored extremist ideologies (Saudi Arabia anyone?). Ironically, the country most responsible for such bad judgment remains the United States. Ironically again, this is the country most influenced by the more extremist Christian ideologies (though in all fairness they don't hold a candle to Wahabism).
There definitely exist far more moderate implementations of Islam. You just have to look outside the Middle East region. It's in the human nature that the troublemakers get all the attention.

the Holocaust, its interesting that the whole world was
aware of what was going on. So you think that Turkey
committed a so called 'genocide' against the Armenian
