Dalai Lama visits Austrian orphanage

Vienna - The Dalai Lama arrived in Austria on Monday to participate in the three-day Waldzell Meeting. Ahead of attending the think-tank meeting he paid a visit to an Austrian orphanage.
The Tibetan leader will participate in the Waldzell-Meeting, a meeting focusing on global dialogue between persons from the fields of philosophy, science and spirituality. The meeting takes place at the baroque Melk abbey from 17 to 19 September.
Visiting an SOS Children's Village orphanage, the Dalai Lama said the NGO, founded by Austrian Hermann Gmeiner was one of the world's most important.
It had done much for Tibetans, the spiritual leader and head of state of Tibet said. The orphanage in Hinterbruehl near the Austrian capital Vienna celebrated its 50th anniversary.
Answering questions of children, the Dalai Lama said his inner peace was due to peace in his heart. To be happy and peaceful inside helped to strengthen the body's immune system. But, who only paid attention to his career and forgot to listen to his heart, would be lonely, the Dalai Lama told the assembled children.
