Vaclav Havel edits newspaper - for a day
Oct 3, 2007, 16:42 GMT
Prague - Readers of the Czech financial and business daily Hospodarske Noviny are not to expect their regular fare Thursday. For their newspaper has a new editor Wednesday, former Czech president Vaclav Havel, if just for a day.
The issue under Havel's rein is set to print interviews with iconic Polish journalist Adam Michnik and CNN's chief foreign correspondent Christine Amanpour, the newspaper said Wednesday.
Dissident playwright-turned-president also asked former US secretary of state Madeleine Albright, playwright Tom Stoppard and Russian chess champion-turned-opposition politician Gary Kasparov to participate.
Havel is not the first global celebrity to take over a newspaper for a day. Rock star Bono Vox was a guest editor at The Independent, a British daily.
