Amman - Russian Presidential envoy Alexander Sultanov told Jordanian Foreign Minister Abdul Ilah Khatib Wednesday that Moscow supported 'serious' talks between Israel and the Palestinian on final status issues, an official statement said.
In reference to the international conference on the Middle East due to be held in the United States next month, the Russian emissary said the negotiations should lead to the creation of 'an independent, viable and geographically-connected Palestinian state'.
Russia is member of the Middle East peace Quartet which also includes the United States, European Union and United Nations.
