Rains cause flooding on Canary Islands
Nov 22, 2007, 16:01 GMT
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain - Heavy rains led to flooding Thursday on the Canary Islands of Gran Canaria and Tenerife, Spanish media reported.
The partial collapse of a retaining wall caused a mudslide in the Gran Canaria capital Las Palmas, where flooding also led to traffic jams, and a two-floor parking house was inundated.
Rains also hit Tenerife, where power cuts were reported. The islands were recovering from the rains which occurred in the early morning hours.
