German tourists advised to avoid crowds in Kenya
Dec 31, 2007, 13:38 GMT
Berlin - Tourists should avoid crowds and political rallies in Kenya, a German Foreign Ministry travel advisory said Monday.
The security warning appeared on the ministry's website in Berlin after violent protests in Kenya at the declaration that the ruling party had won the presidential election.
According to the advisory, tourists should exercise especial care when near the slum areas of the capital Nairobi and the coastal city of Mombasa. It said holidaymakers concerned to eliminate any risk should consider postponing trips to Kenya by a few days.
