Vienna - Cleaning staff made the gruesome discovery of a young man's body with a garden rake embedded in his head Saturday morning murdered on a prominent inner city square in Vienna.
The two cleaning ladies discovered blood on Vienna's Albertina square, the site of the famous art gallery of the same name, a police spokeswoman said.
Following the traces they discovered the body of a yet unidentified man, whose age was estimated at between 20 and 40 years, hidden between wood and bricks in a closed-off construction area. A garden rake was embedded in the victim's head.
Police believed the victim had gotten into a fight with his killer or killers on the square and then was dragged to the construction site where he was probably killed by being repeatedly hit in the face with the rake.
Albertina square, visited daily by hundreds of tourists, was closed off by the police as the body was still lying at the crime scene by mid-morning Saturday due to ongoing forensic investigation.
