Bush okays military aid to Kosovo

Washington - US President George W Bush on Wednesday approved military aid to Kosovo, which declared its independence from Serbia last month.
A presidential declaration to the US State Department said 'the furnishing of defense articles and defense services to Kosovo will strengthen the security of the United States and promote world peace.'
The US was among the first nations to recognize Kosovo after it split from Serbia, despite heavy protests from Belgrade.
