Fourth daughter for Czech crooner Karel Gott
May 29, 2008, 15:57 GMT
Prague - Karel Gott, a Czech crooner with a large following in Germany and Eastern Europe, said Thursday he has become a father for the fourth time.
His daughter Nelly Sofie weighed in 3.16 at kilograms on Wednesday afternoon. It is his fourth daughter and the second child by his 32- year-old wife, Ivana.
In a telephone interview with Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa, Gott said he was far from disappointed at having another daughter.
'I am a romantic, a tenor, a sensitive man. What I do is music for a woman's heart. Girls somehow befit me,' the proud father said.
Gott, 68, had groomed an image of a confirmed bachelor until his surprise wedding to his long-time girlfriend Ivana at Las Vegas in January.
The couple's first child, Charlotte Ella, is two. The star also has two adult daughters, Dominika and Lucie, to previous girlfriends.
The singer, once billed the Sinatra of the East and the Golden Voice from Prague, has sold tens of millions of records in the Czech Republic and Germany as well as in Russia, Japan and Poland.
