Two bombs explode in northern Spain after ETA warning (1st Lead)

Madrid - Two bombs planted by the Basque separatist organisation ETA exploded Sunday in northern Spain, but there were no injuries with the ETA providing authorities with advance warning.
Spanish radio said the first bomb went off at the coastal city of Laredo, and the second at the nearby beach resort town Noja.
After ETA phoned in its warning, police were able to evacuate the area ahead of time. Earlier reports had said the separatist group warned of four bombs having been planted.
Authorities believed that ETA's attack is meant to hurt Spain's key tourism industry. In past years the group had carried out similar attacks in various vacation resort areas.
In recent weeks the group had also carried out bomb attacks in the Basque region, one targetting a radio broadcasting facility and the other a newspaper office. There were no injuries in those blasts.
