France's Sarkozy calls emergency summit over Georgian crisis

Paris - French President Nicolas Sarkozy has called for a emergency summit of the European Union for September 1 in Brussels over the ongoing crisis in Georgia, the presidential palace announced Sunday.
According to the statement, Sarkozy - as current president of the European Union - was acting on the wishes of several EU member states.
The summit is to address the future relations between Russia and the EU as well as possible aid to Georgia.
