Gee, I wonder who should bear the blame for this sad state of affairs? What the Europeans should do is to pull out of NATO and take care of their defense themselves. They have made their defense Uncle Sam's problem and now Uncle Sam rightly wants to solve their problem in a way that suits him the best. No one should be surprised.
