Nov 20, 2008, 15:47 GMT
Belgrade - The Serbian government on Thursday said it would file a counter suit against Croatia in the International Court of Justice (IJC) over alleged genocide committed against Serbs during the war in the 1990s.
'The Serbian government decided to take measures and file counter charges before International Court of Justice (ICJ) against Croatia for genocide,' a statement issued after regular government session said.
Serbia would also form a legal team to work on finding the 'full truth on conflict and crimes committed on Croatia's territory during the 1991-95 armed conflict.'
On Tuesday, the ICJ, which is based in The Hague, ruled it had jurisdiction to hear the case in which Croatia claims that Serbia committed genocide during war.
While Croatian officials welcomed the ICJ's decision on Tuesday, while Belgrade said it was considering the possibility of a counter case.
