Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar signs with Real Madrid
Dec 2, 2008, 19:39 GMT
Madrid - Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has signed with Real Madrid, the Spanish club confirmed Tuesday after reaching an agreement with Ajax Amsterdam.
'The agreement is of course contingent upon the player passing a physical and signing his contract with Real Madrid. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar will play for Real Madrid through June 30, 2013,' Real Madrid said on its website.
The Spanish giant will reportedly pay close to 20 million euros (25.4 million dollars) to the forward's current club.
Huntelaar, 25, is expected to fill the vacuum left by his countryman Ruud van Nistelrooy, who will miss the rest of the season due to injury.
However, Real Madrid's new signee is also currently injured and will be unable to play before January.
