Germany studies new terrorism video, prosecutors say

Karlsruhe, Germany - German investigators are checking out a hostile, German-language, Islamist video which recently appeared on a Central Asian website, federal prosecutors in Karlsruhe confirmed Tuesday.
The 25-minute video appeared to have been made by the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan. The German speakers in the video were thought to be two brothers of Moroccan extraction who grew up in Bonn and hold German citizenship, the Spiegel news website said.
The video, apparently made last month, did not contain any explicit threat, Spiegel said. But one of the men was depicted as he said, 'Pray sincerely to Allah that he may open your way to jihad.'
Jihad is an Islamic term for a holy war or struggle.
In Karlsruhe, a federal prosecutions spokesman gave no details, but said, 'There is a new video which may be the third issued by the German-Moroccan brothers from Bonn.'
Germany has already opened an inquiry into whether the men have joined a foreign terrorist group, which would be a crime under German law. The Uzbek movement is based in the troubled Ferghana Valley of Central Asia.
