Man admits to car attack and rape of child cyclist

Minden, Germany - German police were holding a motorist Wednesday who admitted that he deliberately collided with a girl cyclist, 13, and raped her while she was suffering from concussion.
The 30-year-old father of five had initially claimed the crash on Monday near the northern town of Minden was an accident, but conceded after a long interrogation that he had been looking for a child to attack. The sexual attack took place inside his car.
Police said the collision caused leg and arm injuries and concussion. 'She can't remember what happened,' a police spokesman said.
Area police mounted a search for the girl after her parents had reported her missing.
The wrecked bicycle and her sandals were found, but the child, dazed and confused, walked home by herself. It was not initially clear that she has also been sexually attacked.
Police said the suspect, who was unemployed and had no vocational training, had no previous criminal record.
