Serbian priest "beats up his mistress"

Belgrade - A Serbian Orthodox priest from the eastern town Gornji Milanovac has beaten up his 20 years younger mistress, local media reported Wednesday.
The priest attacked his lover on the second day of Orthodox Easter in the house they shared in a small mining village near Gornji Milanovac, local police said. The woman later sought medical help.
The 57-year-old priest, who has a wife and family, is known for violence. He recently tried to attack his villagers with an axe, and police had already confiscated his gun.

It's not Orthodox bashing.
But it is bad news. How can the facts be verified?
Who is the priest? Who is the woman? How is the local church responding? Is it effective? How can he serve as priest? Who is the bishop? How is the bishop dealing with the situation?
It asks more questions than it answers.
Respect for the office of the priest is important. Action against using the priesthood as immunity from prosecution for abuse is more important.
We can't expect men to behave simply because they are priests. (Why, if we did, would they need to go to Confession before they offer the Eucharist?) Human beings do despicable things.
Improve the news. Report the truth. Act to purify the people and keep them safe and growing in love and goodness.
This is not journalism. Orthodox priest? Well what's his name? This is a joke!
well in this peice of bad journalism is 'orthodox bashing' as it dosnt say he is mentally unstable implying 'look at what serbian orthodox do in their spare time' or 'oh, look first genocide now their priests bash people'............. i know a protestant priest who poured boiling water down his childrens throats because they swore, but that wasnt on any form of news did anyone hear about that no?.....what a surprise

I don't see this as Serb or Orthodox bashing at all. Yes, the story provides little detail. But pirests are human, be they Orthodox, Catholic or Protestatnt.
They all have a record of sexual abuse no different than the general population. In Canada we have had an awful record of Catholic priests sexually abusing young boys with numerous convictions in the courts.
And I do not read those stories as ones bashing Catholics. Those are facts.
If the Serb beat his girlfriend, then he should be treated like any other citizen in a court of law.
Our dear NAZI Germans as usual are hard working in spiting poison against everything that is Serb. Of course there is German journalist payed to be in Serbia just to find something that is against Serbia !

I don't quite understand. There is no name, no church name, and absolutely nothing in this article other than childish gossip. Anybody who would take this for face value should perhaps read the following.
Let's try this:
It has been reported recently that 2nd generation Nazi families have begun to reform the Nazi movement in Germany. Recently sources have found that over 5,000 members have joined the New Nazi Movement (NNM) and reportedly have kidnapped several unnamed Jews and have plans on opening an underground concentration camp to help reach a 'final solution' for all Jews and to further the NNM cause. Recently German police have detained a few people for questioning but it is widely felt that there is no will to stop the NNM and there is no growing concern from the German population over the New Nazi Movement.
Should we believe this too????????

Most, if not all Orthodox Christian Jurisdictions will defrock or laizise any priest guilty of infidelity or pedophilia. I am aware of at least one Greek Orthodox Metropolitan who warned his priests, when the Roman Catholic pedophilia scandals were breaking, that they would recieve a bullet in the head if they dared molest a child. Contrast this with the Roman Catholic Church which appears to have become a 'privileged sanctuary for pedophiles or islam where most if not all the adult males would rather fornicate with little boys, their camals or their pack animals than with their women. Is it coincidence that both the muslims and the roman catholic have very close ties to nazi germany??

It happened in the village Šilopaj (near Takovo).
The Catholic church promotes pedophiles. Who else would go into the priest hood other then homosexuals.
