Mourinho confident on Ibrahimovic staying at Inter
Jun 12, 2009, 10:14 GMT
Rome - Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho is convinced Zlatan Ibrahimovic will stay with the Italian champions despite his apparent interest in a transfer to another team, it was reported Friday.
'I keep thinking that Ibrahimovic will be a player of Inter,' Italian media quoted the Portuguese coach as saying.
'It's a personal certainty. My confidence about this is the confidence of someone who knows football well.'
The Swedish star striker has worried Inter fans since the Serie A season ended on May 31, repeatedly hinting at a possible departure after three seasons with the blue-blacks.
Rumours that European champions Barcelona could be the Swede's new team gathered steam after both his agent and Inter president Massimo Moratti met managers from the Spanish giants.
Barca president Joan Laporta confirmed the meeting with Moratti, saying that Inter are interested in Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o, triggering speculations of a swap for Ibra.
Ibra this week further fuelled rumours saying that he knows where he'll play next season.
'I now it but I keep it for myself. And this makes me feel good,' he said.
