Iranian exiles hold anti-Ahmedinejad demo in Frankfurt
Jun 16, 2009, 17:16 GMT
Frankfurt - More than 1,000 Iranian exiles staged their first demonstration in Germany against President Mahmoud Ahhmedinejad on Tuesday in Frankfurt.
In the wake of the official presidential election outcome and the violence on the streets in Tehran, Iranian demonstrators gathered in Frankfurt's central Roemerberg square to accuse Ahmedinejad of election fraud, media censorship and police violence.
Marchers held up posters with Ahmedinejad's image with the words 'shame on you' while other posters said 'Where is my vote?'
Frankfurt police said the demo, which had been chiefly called by Iranian women's groups, was completely peaceful.
