Movie-goers to help mark Berlin Film Festival 60th anniversary
Jun 30, 2009, 11:16 GMT
Berlin - The Berlin Film Festival called on movie-goers Tuesday to help to mark its 60th anniversary next year.
The Berlinale is now one of the world's top three film festivals, and has showcased highlights of world cinema over the decades against a backdrop of the Cold War and the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.
Some of the world's leading stars have also graced the Berlinale's red carpet, including Rita Hayworth, Sophia Loren, Federico Fellini, and Billy Wilder.
But unlike some other top movie festivals around the world, the Berlinale opens its screenings up to the general public.
As a result, Berlinale organizers have asked those who have attended the festival to share their personal stories from the Berlinale's six-decade history.
This, festival organizers said, included their 'loveliest and most moving, thrilling, tearful, erotic, funny, upsetting, embarrassing and tender moments at the Berlinale.'
